In Rach and Ash's word...

The Beginning: We met through mutual friends about 7 years ago and have been together for 6 years now.

The Proposal: Rach and I had the afternoon off on the Friday June 1st 2012, we were overdue for a picnic so the plan was to prepare a picnic basket full of the things she loved (chocolates, cheese, champagne etc etc) and propose at Cornwall park in the sun.  However, the night before I could tell she knew it was coming, and I began to panic about the delivery, there would be no way to hide the basket without her knowing was what about to happen. So early that morning at 6am having hardly slept, I decided I would surprise her then and there, I set up the picnic basket by our bed and proposed while she was half asleep!  Of course she said yes!... and we still spent the day at Cornwall park having a picnic.

Best Part: The best part of our wedding day was becoming Mrs Wee! And seeing everyone so happy

Tip: I would recommend brides make sure they have plenty of time to plan and enjoy the process of organising their wedding! You only get to do it once, so have fun!

Theme: The colour palette of pink, green and gold stemmed from our Secret Garden theme for the wedding.

Location: Our ceremony was at St Patricks Cathedral and reception at Parnell on the Rose Gardens.

Dresses and Suits:

I designed my dress, picked the fabric and had it made by Cathy Francis. A dress maker based out in Bucklands Beach. I had always known what I wanted my dress to look like, it was just a matter of finding someone who could make it – and Cathy was perfect!

The bridesmaids dresses were purchased from Natasha Millani in Australia.

The groom and groomsmens suits were from Dorset Suit Hire and waistcoats from Exclusive Suit Hire.

Hair, Flowers and all the rest

Hair was by Danielle Bryce and makeup by Sarika Patel.

Flowers were by Dellene Hunt, a Cambridge based Florist.

My mum made the cake and flowers were prepared by our florist.

Most of the decorations were DIY, I had a friend organise the tree slabs for us and I collected about 80 jars over the past year!

Invitations and all wedding stationery was by Kate Jones @ Inkprints

Our photo locations were at the Winter Gardens and Judges Bay.

Pinterest really is the greatest tool when planning a wedding. It provides so many ideas and inspiration for everything you can imagine.

For our honeymoon we escaped to Queenstown for 5 nights.
