Chris proposed on a Gondola in Venice, Italy - very romantic!

It took us about a year to plan the wedding. We had a gold and white theme and we created the table decorations, invitations and wedding favours to match. The wedding favours were white organza bags with Hershey's Kisses in them.

The ceremony and reception were at Settler's Lodge in Waimauku. We had 46 guests so the venue was perfect. It was great having all of our best friends come to the wedding - 3 of them had even come from England! Having all four of my grandparents come to the wedding was also pretty special.

We had a Violinist & Cello player play The Minstrel Boy as I walked down the aisle. They also played background music while our guests were waiting for me to arrive and while we were having our group photo's.

Our photographer was Fiona from Simply Photos who did a fantastic job.

My dress was a strapless, white, A Line dress from Modes in Newmarket. My bridesmaids wore gold and brown beaded dresses from Fuchsia in Newmarket.

A black Mercedes 600 Pullman, once owned by Hugh Hefner!

Getting to talk to Chris whilst our Matron of Honour and Best Man signed the register.

Our funniest moment was running to the toilet just before our 'entrance' to the reception!

I wore my mother and my sister's garters from their weddings. My mother's garter was old and blue, both were borrowed, my dress was new. I threw the bouquet, and the one who didn't want to catch it did.

Apart from the day itself, the flowers were absolutely amazing. Also, our celebrant suited our personality's perfectly.

All the planning to get everything to match paid off as it all looked fantastic.

We honeymooned at Couran Cove, Stradbroke Island - Australia.

Married life is great!

As for advice - just make sure that you confirm everything the day before the wedding so you get no nasty surprises on the day.
