Most of us are completely exhausted by one wedding but these two did it twice on opposite sides of the world.

Megan and Paul are both New Zealanders but they had to go to England to meet.

Megan and Paul Firkin

"Paul and I grew up in South Auckland literally five minutes apart and were even born in the same hospital! My flatmate introduced us on a pedestrian crossing on the A40 in London and then again when he came round to watch the rugby. It was NZ vs Australia - NZ scored and won and so did Paul and I!" explains Megan.

Once they found each other it was a full-on whirlwind romance.

"It's really weird - and I know this sounds like a cliché - but we have so much in common.  Same likes, dislikes, and goals in life - we found each other at the right time in our lives and now we are soul-mates.  Even our stars say we are matched"  tells Paul.

After only eight weeks Paul proposed at about 2am on a garden swing seat - and of course Megan said 'yes'.

Having decided - why wait? One week later Megan and Paul exchanged vows in the Hammersmith Gardens Chapel.

The couple decided on a non-traditional 'London' theme for their English wedding - Megan chose a black dress with big pink flowers and an overall colour theme of black, pink and green.

It was an intimate wedding with Megan's dad flying into London for the day and four close friends.

Despite the speed the ceremony was emotional, "Paul and I both cried!" reports Megan, with touches of their sense of fun with Megan calling Paul "Paul 'Ronald McDonald' Firkin".

"The day we got married London had the highest rainfall in years. It was very very wet but that just made it all the more special - especially when we were in Regent's and Hyde Parks as no one else was around.

We had planned hire a little boat at Hyde Park and go for a paddle on the Serpentine because my father proposed to my mother on the Serpentine but the weather was too bad" explains Megan.

Beginning with breakfast the champagne flowed all day.  "Between the seven of us we drank 17 bottles of Vintage Moet! A good time was had by all!" laughs Megan.

Megan and Paul honeymooned in a suite at the Savoy on The Strand.

For most people that would be enough but not these two. "We both wanted an intimate wedding but missed sharing it with our families so decided to do it all again the traditional way" explains Paul.
