Lincoln proposed to Laura a few days before Christmas 2005 after knowing each other for 3.5 years.
Lincoln is the director of an event company in Auckland. As he was experienced in the event industry and new many contacts, Laura let him become the wedding planner. It took approx 4 months to plan.
Our reception was held at Pinot in Auckland and we had 103 guests.
The theme at our reception was The Chronicles of Narnia (The Lion, Witch and Wardrobe).
The Press were there to greet the guests as Laura and Lincoln walked the red carpet past huge flares. A giant gold lion crouched in the entranceway, framed in billowing flames. It was here that they were met by their guide Mr Beaver. Laura and Lincoln posed for photos with Mr Beaver in front of a customized two-metre Narnia movie hoarding with the credits reading “Laura and Lincoln and Walt Disney present”.
An elevated black velvet-dressed stage was set up by the roaring fire, and it was here a body-painted model posed as a gold Bengal tiger. As the Narnia soundtrack played, guests from as far as the USA and the Philippines chatted over drinks and nibbles until Mr Beaver ushered them to the unveiling of the giant magical wardrobe. Stepping through the door, they found themselves in snows and mists, a chill wind blustering through the pines.
The invites were made in Florida, USA by Arlene Segal Designs and were a personalised snow flake.
As guests arrived at the church service, they were each given a parchment scroll revealing the mystery location of the reception. It read "Welcome to the World of Narnia"
At the reception Table Decor consisted of (for the ladies) tiny fur coats, birds eggs and Turkish delight and (for the men) chocolate cigars. In the centre of each table were baby white snow covered trees with fairy bud lights.
Laura wore a stunning strapless gown from Astra Bridal, in white and silver heavily beaded in front with crystals that also glittered down into her two-metre georgette train and around the hemline. Her veil fell to her waist from a Swarovski crystal tiara, and the sixty white roses she carried were also trimmed in white fur and satin. For the reception she donned a white fur wrap.
Lincoln wore a highwayman coat with silver cravat, and the best men and groomsman wore blue ties to match the bridesmaids.
The Bridesmaids’ dresses were modelled on Halle Berry’s famous Oscars gown – long and strapless, satin overlaid with sheer chiffon, royal blue with cyan highlights.
The Flowergirl wore a little pure white ball dress with fur-lined cape, a circlet of white roses on her head, and a tight bundle of white roses in her hands
Mother of the Bride wore a traditional Filipino cream dress with satin roses, and Mother of the Groom wore a pale blue silk dress with a chiffon wrap, with a matching blue silk cape trimmed with arctic fox.

Traditional Catholic wedding. Something old and something borrowed was a handkerchief, something new was white lace underwear and something blue was a garter.
Laura was Phillipino so during our wedding ceremony we had a traditional fillipino veil and cord ceremony. The veil was placed on both of us to signify a joining of each other and the cord was to bind our love for each other.
