Kapiti Coast venue
May 6th, 2011, 10:07am

Hi all, we're looking for a Kapiti Coast venue for a summer 2012 wedding. Somewhere beachy would be fab but even somewhere with nice grounds that is close to the beach would be cool. Ideally we would like to have the ceremony and reception in the same place and be able to accommodate as many people as possible however I can't seem to find anything online. It doesn't help that I live overseas and can't just jump in the car and have a look! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

We had trouble finding a venue in Kapiti that suited us too, and gave up in the end because we had a tight budget.

Here a couple to look into:

http://www.executive-retreat.co.nz/

Other places we considered were the surf life saving clubs or community halls.

You could look at the following as well:

http://www.tatumpark.co.nz/
or http://www.burnardgardens.co.nz/ (really pretty!)

If you want beachy, even though its not Kapiti Coast...Boomrock is gorgeous Seaviews, also Pencarrow Lodge.

Paekakariki Suf Club, it's not a specific wedding venue, but when I spoke to the event manager they have done a few weddings.

Here's a wedding I covered there in March. It's right by the beach and gets gorgeous amounts of light.  Smiley

Hi there - have a look at property number 9803 on Book a Bach - or do a search on that site by selecting Wellington then Peka Peka Beach - it is called Peka Peka Paradise. It is a huge house with great facilities, huge front lawn and private access to the beach. Cheers, F

Just throwing more ideas your way!  Cheesy

We've just been booked for a wedding here:
www.greenolive.co.nz

I believe they will setup a marquee. Not sure how far away it is from the beach, but it seems to be close to a river.

Just had a peek at your pics Candy - they are beautiful! Wow, the light is amazing. What a great location - would really suit a retro/kiwiana theme too.

Thank you Orangerolls! Smiley

They timed the ceremony just right, 5.30pm then we did the portraits around six-ish, and was dark by 8pm.

Kefalonia (on the road down to the beach at Waikanae) is gorgeous. Pictures from the last wedding I entertained there are here: http://www.djrichard.co.nz/kefalonia-kapiti-wedding-venue.htm

Also worth considering is Kapiteranean, which is south of the Otaihanga (Southwards) intersection. Link HERE.
