Bridal Shoes
May 20th, 2008, 10:15pm

I have feet that never last long in heels.  Can be in running shoes all day long!  I'd like to hear from brides who were on their feet all day. What kind of shoes did you wear and how did your feet hold up??  Any suggestions for really comfortable shoes anyone?

I am the high heel queen, it doesn't bother me, but I have seen some stunning strappy sandals that have little to no heel, sounds like what you need.

Suzie Q shoes? I cannae remember!

I am like you Ms Ari - if I am in heals for to long my feet start dying.

Go for something that is a 2 inch heal or less (5-6 cm).
Stellettos (sp?) hurt more than if you have a wedge or wider heal (that is because your feet are working harder to balance).

I lasted in a wider heal strappy shoe for my friends wedding with a 6cm heal and was fine - it is because the shoe was nice and wide and fit my feet great.  And there was a wider platform for me to stand on.

I'm exactly the opposite.  I can wear heels all day and night, but get sore feet if I'm in flats for more than a few hours  Huh

Sunshine, are you thinking of Susie D? www.susiedbridalshoes.co.nz.

Astra Bridal also has a huge range of shoes in their catalogues with different widths and heel heights to suit everyone.

Something with a heal like this is better on the feet.

I'm Like you Mrs Ari! kiwit is definately right and I find the wider heel/shorter the heel is the easier it on your feet. But I still get sore feet so have devised the perfect solution!...

Start 3 months out and you start by wearing high heels for an hour/day then gradually introduce them more and more making sure you have days off etc... its just like training for an event with the bonus that whenever you wear heels for a day many MANY people comment on how nice your looking! te he he

That's what I did for my friend's wedding (weekend affair) and it worked a treat. I stood all day into the night and the next day without a thought!! However, This means that I only have 3-4 more months of comfy shoes before I have to start again for my wedding!  Roll Eyes

As Island Girl says, wearing them in is key.  The balls of my feet usually get very sore in heels and I also get lots of blisters.  I got my shoes from Susie D, and even though they don't look it, they were super comfy.  The soles were padded but it did help that I wore them in by wearing them to all my dance lessons before the wedding.

Whilst on the shoe topic. Has anyone ordered their shoes online? I have found the perfect pair on Amazon of all places but they don't ship to NZ. Any ideas?

I got mine off Trademe, brand new, dyeable, for $69 plus shipping (about $75 all up), and they are gorgeous shoes. She's got some others too, here's a link:

I had no problems with the trade, I asked her lots of questions about the size, length etc, to make sure they were exactly right, and they fit perfectly. Very very  happy!!!

Panic over, I have ordered a cute pair from Shoebuy.com. Thanks whoever recommended them to me.

All up - $75.00 so I'm happy with that. Finger's crossed they get here soon and they're the right size.
