We had a fabulous day with the venue for both the ceremony and reception being on the waterfront at my parents beach house in Pauanui. It's great having a special venue that we visit regularly and will look back on years to come when we have children.

Everything went amazingly smoothly even down to it being high-tide right when we got married - something we hadn't even thought about when planning the day.

Following the ceremony the rest of the night turned into the most memorable party with finger food and drinks served all night, and a carvery for later on. No seated dining meant everybody danced the night away to almost every single song thanks to the fantastic DJ we had.

As daylight saving had ended by then we had perfect light for our photos and the marquee when all lit up was so beautiful. We got so lucky with the weather as the next day there was a storm - but that was perfect for us because it made us more excited about heading to sunny Thailand for our honeymoon.

We added a personal touch to our wedding by making our favours - we planted succulents from our garden into wee pots and put them in noodle boxes tied with personalised ribbon.
